Volunteer activities and opportunities

The Library Director will coordinate and supervise the volunteer program.  

The Bettie M. Luke Muenster Public Library offers a number of opportunities for volunteers.  Among those are:

 Circulation Desk operations

  1. Shelf Reading:       Volunteers perform this critical task of ensuring that items on the library’s shelves are in correct order.
  2. Technology Training:      Volunteers teach patrons to explore the internet, use standard computer programs, send e-mails, or access the online catalog.
  3.  Story-time Reading
  4.  Special Programs and Projects:      The library has special programs and projects that require volunteer support.  

C.    Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

This federally subsidized program offers recognition and assistance to volunteers over the age of 55. The Library Director liaisons with RSVP representatives to insure volunteers of the Muenster Public Library are aware of the program and its benefits.
